President's Letter Winter 2010

Dear Members,

Happy New Year! I hope everyone enjoyed a Happy and Holy Christmas Season. The Auxiliary has been as busy as ever!

Many thanks to Marisa Mizono and her hard working committee for the beautiful Fall Luncheon held at the St. Francis Yacht Club. Everyone enjoyed the day.

A huge Thank You to Clara McInerney and Stephanie Mazely, their committee and all who helped and attended the Holiday Boutique. Making $78,000.00 was a great success in this economy. It would not have been possible without the generous support of all of you. THANK YOU!

Angels’ Day in December was a trip for Residents to the Tonga Room at the Fairmont Hotel. Residents enjoyed a “Night in the Town”, delicious food, live music, Christmas lights and the handmade Gingerbread House. Thank you to Maureen O’Shea and Andrea Rago, Joanne Murphy, Irene Bechtel the Firefighters Union and PoliceAssociation who made it all possible.

On December 14, Soni Mares and her elves wrapped gifts for each resident and on Christmas Eve they delivered them in the Home. Each resident appreciated Auxiliary members coming to wish them a merry Christmas.

We are looking forward to several events in the coming months. Our Spring Carriage House Sale, chaired by Kathleen Kozak, will take place on Friday and Saturday, March 25th & 26th. If you have time to spare come to the Carriage House on Tuesday mornings to help sort—it is a lot of fun. A special thanks to Mark Darius of Signographics who changes our front gate banner and Peter Ratto of Golden Gate Disposal who gives us the use of dumpster for each sale. Both of these are donations by these companies.

The RED TIE GALA will be held on Friday, November 19th at Neiman Marcus! Celia Barbaccia and her Committee are already working on a fabulous evening for all.

The Residents and Little Sisters greatly benefit from your generosity and appreciate everything you do and they need our help more than ever. Many thanks.

Sincerely,

Judi Hurabiell
